Riding Etiquette on Multi-Use Paths and Trails
Take the California Highway Patrol online Electric Bicycle Safety Course

Be courteous and respect those around you when traveling on multi-use paths and trails. Do not use more than half the width of the trail. When riding on trails, yield to other vulnerable roadway users, especially slower moving people, and horses on equestrian trails. Slowing down around others is a best practice that keeps everyone safe.

Check to see what the E-Bike policy is at any local, state or national park before you go, and obey the rules of the trail when riding.
Do not try to fit between people on the trail. Instead, slow and allow the person traveling in the opposite direction to pass, so you may pass the slower moving person with enough room to do it safely.
